Frequently Asked Questions

A wind farm is designed to operate for more than 30 years.  How can I be certain these turbines will last that long?

  • The right turbine must be selected for your particular application. Turbines are built for certain wind regimes, climates, and geographical areas.  Selecting the right turbine for your project is essential.
  • The turbine manufacturer must adhere to the highest quality standards in the industry. Certifications such as Germanischer/Lloyd, DEWI and, ISO 9001 are all good indicators that the highest international industry accepted standards are being followed.
  • The turbine supplier must guarantee their delivery and performance, and stand behind those guarantees with onerous financial penalties.
  • In order to ensure the turbines will last as long as possible, the turbines must be properly maintained.  It is not unreasonable to expect wind turbines to last more than 30 years if they are properly installed and well maintained.

I am going to be financing my development.  Are lending institutions willing to lend money for these turbines?

  • Yes, lenders will finance turbines as long as they can be assured they are of the highest quality and backed by industry accepted financial guarantees.
  • The lenders, like the owners, are going to require the turbine manufacturer to stand behind their products and, should there be a problem, have the financial resources to correct it thoroughly and without delays.

At current cost per KW, I can’t afford to build my wind farm.  How can Soaring Wind make my project a reality?

  • Soaring Wind Energy represents the highest quality, and best value, turbines in the world.
  • The total costs of installed turbines on a Soaring Wind project is typically 10-20% less than our competitors.
  • With delivery within ten months of order, we can have your development operating months, even years, earlier than other turbine suppliers, improving your project economics
  • The highest quality turbines result in the lowest maintenance expense, further increasing your IRR.
  • The combination of best value, quickest delivery and lowest maintenance costs produce an IRR which makes many developments a reality compared to more expensive alternatives.

What value does Soaring Wind bring to my project?  Am I going to have to pay you a fee?

  • Soaring Wind is the authorized representative for the highest quality wind turbine manufacturers in the world, and we have considerable experience in the wind power industry.  We bring this experience to work for our customers.
  • Our role is to facilitate the agreement between the developer and the manufacturer.  We work with both sides to insure the transaction meets the specific needs of both parties.  This begins with the proper selection of the turbine, negotiating contract terms, delivery and guarantees.
  • Soaring Wind is there every step of the way.  We have bi-lingual experts that facilitate your dealings with everyone concerned in the process.  This includes the manufacturer, legal and technical advisors, erection personnel and the ongoing maintenance providers.
  • Our fee is paid by the manufacturer; you pay nothing for our services.

Does Soaring Wind have a minimum number of turbines that can be ordered at one time?

  • No, we will design a wind program that best meets your needs, regardless of size.

Most manufacturers are sold out until 2011.  When can Soaring Wind realistically get my turbines delivered?

  • In most cases delivery to the Port of Export can be expected within eight months of contract signing.

Will Soaring Wind help me develop my wind project?
